Our Dice

What is the difference between standard and sharp edge dice?

Standard resin dice have the classic softly rounded edges found on many traditional dice.

Sharp edge dice are carefully cast and finished so the faces meet at crisp, clean corners. They require considerably more work to produce and finish, which is why they are priced higher.

Are potion dice sharp edge?

Yes. All of our potion-shaped dice are sharp edge.

What is an 11-piece set?

Our 11-piece sets include additional matching dice beyond the standard 7-piece set. The exact combination can vary by product. Some may include additional D6s, while others may include a different combination such as an extra D20 and additional D6s.

The exact dice included are listed in the product description and product options.

How many dice do your boxes hold?

Box capacity varies by product.

  • Small boxes fit a standard 7-piece dice set.
  • Large boxes can hold up to an 11-piece set.
  • D6 storage boxes can hold up to 12 D6s.

Please check the individual product listing for exact details.

Do you sell single dice?

Not typically. Most of our dice are sold as complete sets.

We do offer select oversized D20s individually, and some products may also offer optional matching dice as add-ons. Please check the individual product listing for details.

What size are your dice?

Sizes vary depending on the collection and design.

For most standard resin sets, the D6 is approximately 16 mm. In some designs, the D20 may be slightly larger than a traditional standard-size D20 because we like to give one of the most important dice in the set a little more presence.

Most sharp edge sets are slightly larger, with a D6 of approximately 17 mm. Some premium multifaceted sharp edge sets are an exception and use a D6 of approximately 16 mm.

Metal dice also tend to be slightly larger than standard resin dice and are significantly heavier.

Exact dimensions are listed on the individual product page whenever applicable.

What size D20 does my set include?

D20 size varies by collection. We offer standard, large, extra-large, and chonk D20s depending on the design.

Most standard resin sets include a standard or slightly oversized D20. The exact size is listed on the individual product page.

How heavy are metal dice?

Metal dice are significantly heavier than resin dice. Weight varies by design, but many 7-piece metal sets are roughly 100 to 170 grams.

Because of their additional weight, we recommend rolling metal dice on a well-padded dice tray or other suitable soft surface.

Will metal dice tarnish?

Our metal dice should not tarnish under normal use. For best care, keep them in a dry area and wipe them with a soft cloth when needed.

Are the dice easy to read?

Readability varies by design. If maximum visibility is important to you, we recommend choosing dice with strong contrast between the numbers and the dice colour.

Some highly detailed, translucent, or visually complex designs may naturally be easier to read under certain lighting conditions than others.

Will I be able to see the miniature inside the dice?

Visibility depends on the design and the shape of the die.

You will generally be able to see the miniature clearly from at least one significant viewing angle. Some designs include an opaque or decorative resin layer beneath the miniature, so the figure may not be visible from that side.

The shape of the die also affects visibility. A D6 has large, flat faces and can make the interior easier to see, while a D20 has many smaller facets and can make the miniature more difficult to view from some angles.

Please use the product photos as a reference for the individual design.

Will my dice look exactly like the photos?

Our product photos are taken under studio lighting. The appearance of a die can change depending on the lighting in your home, including natural sunlight, warm indoor light, cool LED light, or a dimly lit room.

Many resin designs also have natural variations in colour, swirls, glitter, inclusions, and other effects. Your dice will match the overall design shown, but handmade resin dice will not always be identical to the set photographed.

Is every set unique?

Many of our resin dice have natural variations, so colours, patterns, swirls, glitter, and inclusions can differ from one set to another. This means many resin sets have their own individual character.

Metal dice are manufactured more consistently and will usually look much more similar from one set to another.

Are your dice balanced?

Our dice are balanced for normal tabletop role-playing use. They are not manufactured to casino-standard precision.

Are your dice suitable for children?

Our products are not intended for children. Dice are small and can present a choking hazard, and metal dice are heavy with hard edges. Keep them away from small children.

How should I care for my dice?

To help keep your dice in excellent condition, roll them on a well-padded dice tray or other soft surface.

If you hear a loud, sharp knock when the dice land, the surface may be too hard and may not be absorbing enough of the impact. Over time, repeated impacts on hard surfaces can contribute to normal wear.

We do not recommend using dice towers because the repeated impacts inside some towers may be harder on the dice than rolling them on a properly padded surface.

Keep your dice dry and wipe them with a soft cloth when needed.

Why are some dice more expensive than others?

The price of a set depends on factors such as the materials used, the complexity of the design, the size of the dice, and the amount of work required to cast, finish, and polish them.

Sharp edge, metal, oversized, miniature, and other specialty designs may require different materials or considerably more production and finishing work than a standard resin set.

What tabletop role-playing games are your 7-piece sets suitable for?

Our standard 7-piece polyhedral sets work with many tabletop role-playing games that use a traditional polyhedral dice set, including Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, and many others.

If you are unsure about a particular game, contact us and we will be happy to help.

How do I choose between standard resin, sharp edge, and metal dice?

Standard resin dice are a great choice for everyday play and have the familiar rounded shape used by many tabletop players.

Sharp edge dice offer crisp edges and a more refined, premium appearance.

Metal dice are heavier and have a very different feel in the hand and on the table.

If you are choosing based on a particular design, size, weight, or playing style, check the individual product description or contact us for help.

Gifts

What do you recommend as a gift for someone who plays Dungeons & Dragons or another tabletop RPG?

If you are not sure what to choose, a standard 7-piece resin set is a great starting point and works with many popular tabletop role-playing games.

For someone who already owns several sets, you may want to consider a premium sharp edge set, metal dice, an oversized D20, or another specialty design.

If you are still unsure, contact us and we will be happy to help you choose.
